Lisa Lindley,
With three children of her own, psychologist Lisa Lindley has been working with families for 20 years.
A message from Lisa:
“More than feeling emotionally fragile for a few days following the birth – commonly known as the Baby Blues – post-natal depression can last for months if left untreated & the feelings are intense & constant,” I understand the issues pretty well & have a passion in that area.”
Lisa set up the Sunshine Coast Post Natal Support Group on a voluntary basis because she saw a real need on the Sunshine Coast for more support for women suffering with PND.
The group, meets weekly, & also offers an 8-week program aimed at providing women with information about post natal depression as well as practical ways to reduce its symptoms of depression. It gives women the chance to know they are not alone & receive support & friendship from other women including mothers who have overcome post natal depression.
“The group aims to be as informal as possible with plenty of time for coffee & discussion about the weekly topic. We also look at ways to improve the bond between mother & child, stress management, assertiveness & problem solving.”

The Sunshine Cost prostate Cancer Support Group is one of 29 similar voluntary groups in Queensland & 130 groups across Australia. We are affiliated with the National body, the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) & we work closely with Cancer Council Queensland.
The Sunshine Coast group is one of the largest regional groups with 70-90 people attending our monthly meetings.
Our role is support & education - we do not provide medical advice.
Meetings are attended by men coping with diagnosis, those who have had various forms of treatment & men living with prostate cancer. Partners & family members are encouraged to attend mettings.
There is no  formal membership & no obligation to attend every meeting - only come to meetings as often as you wish to.
Members enjoy the social side of the group, the empathy, the opportunity to talk with others who have had the different forms of treatment, sharing experiences that may assist you & help you make the important decisions. We can provide contact details to enable you to talk by phone with men who have had specific treatments.
Guest speakers including health professionals keep us up-to-date with services available, treatment options & other aspects of living with prostate cancer. It’s about giving a vision of life & hope after treatment
